Despite there great reputation for building cars they have been experiencing more quality issues than any of the other manufacturers as of late. I was thinking of buying one myself but decided I would wait until I'm sure they have resolved these issues.

I have a Yaris S sedan. We absolutely love this car. It gets great gas mileage. I test drove the corrola S, and the Yaris was a lot quieter on the road. It doesn't have all the fancy things that some people would like to have, but It suits our needs well. I would recommend this car a hundred times over!

I've never owned a Yaris but my mum use to own a 91 Camry and now my little brother owns a 92 Corolla.
They have both been very good cars, not major problems with them, Toyota is one of the best Japanese car makers.
I'd get a Yaris if i had the money, or a Prius.

You could call me a car expert.
Although the Yaris is a Toyota, it is one of the lowest rated Toyotas out there. It may be a fuel-sipper, but it has a noisy engine and ride. The handling and braking are poor, and the driving position isn't great. Positives are reliability, MPG, styling (if you like this type of car) and hatchback versatility. But I would get a Honda Fit or maybe a Prius, depending on your price range.
If you test drive it, and will compromise for the fuel economy, it may be the car for you.

toyota overall makes good cars.... ive been to foreign countries where people still have 1970s toyota running and in good condition....
the yaris though is not a car i would drive... im 5-7 and i feel real squished.... if you have a family or drive around with other people they will be even more squished because there is no back seat leg room
get a corolla... its the next cheapest car that they make
or get a nissan sentra or a honda civic

I have a toyota yaris and I love it. I'm also only 5 feet tall though. Its not exactly the roomiest car, but it works for me.
Its excellent on gas, and its not noisy like the other guy said. (maybe a litttle on the highway going 85... ) It drives really smoothe and it has 7 cup holders!
I have a 7 year warranty so I will probably trade it in before it even has a chance to die on me.. thats something you should consider also.

I have a 2007 Yaris Sedan. The car is great. It looks small from the outside but is really big when you get inside. The gas milage is so great. I am getting about 37 city and 45 highway. It really is worth the price of the car.

Read all of this before you consider a Toyota https://answersrip.com/question/index?qid=20070301210328AAn8E5d
Here is Smart Moneys test of small cars http://www.smartmoney.com/autos/newcars/index.cfm?story=december2006
The Yaris lost with 2 stars, Nissan Versa third with 2.5 stars, Chevy Aveo sedan second with 3 stars, and the Honda Fit won with 3.5 stars. They dont post the scores online, you have to get the magazine. The interior of the new Aveo sedan is actually pretty nice http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic... (The link is broken, but the article is called "Aveo's rich look interior a shock") The Aveo is a worldwide player for GM, and in many places is a mid-range car. The Fit is a little nicer, but it costs a lot more and is more expensive to fix. My dad has a 15 year old Saturn and it still runs great, even within the last year GM has made strides in quality and reliability, and its paying off.
If you can wait a few months get this, it will be worth it http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070329/COL14/703290382/1015/BUSINESS01 Hope this helps :)

yes, the yaris is a good car and its also been in Japan for quite a while so there probably arent any errors because they fixed them all.

i own a repair shop and my friend bought one of these to drive back and forth to work, and it seems to be a good little car so far ,and he really likes it,because of the mileage he,s getting from it,but that's all he does with it is go back and forth to work, but so far it is doing really good and giving no problems what so ever,so yes id say they are good cars cheap and reliable that's what helps them to sell good, hope this helps, good luck.
