We live in san francisco (hilly) but go to tahoe a few times a year over the winter. We are looking at the 2008 Rav4 4WD V6 but were not sure whether we should by the sport or limited.
How well does this car do on the snow, comparing it to other bigger SUV's like the highlander.
What are some con's in this car.
Is it big enough for a 4 person family?

What about the 3rd row seats, whats that like?
give me as much info about this car as possible

The Rav is smaller, but as long as the people in the back aren't over 6ft tall, you shouldn't have a problem. My Rav (1998) does GREAT in the snow. I've done 45mph in snow and slush that was halfway up my wheels. Smart? Goodness no! But I didn't slide once.

The is not much difference between the sport and the limited.

Save some money. The car does well in the snow but has

a short wheel base. The biggest con is the small interior. It

will be tight for a family of 4 unless 2 are small children. The

v-6 model has excellent power and the 4wd system is great.

I personally drive an '07 Black TRD FJ Cruiser. I've owned

3 new Tacomas and this is the best 4wd yet.

Not as good as the FJ or Landcruiser which have differential locks, bigger wheels and better clearance then a rav4.

the 3rd row seats are good in a crunch but not for long distance.

rav4 will do just fine for on road, light snow driving for 4 people. most people don't need anymore.
