For oil and filter change you may spend in a range of $25 to $30 depending on where you take the car. I do Jiffy Lube for about $27. A tune-up can be in the $100 to $300 range, again depending where you take your car and what will get done to it.

Change your oil yourself for 8 to 15 bucks or take it to a lube place and spend 30 . The pluse side to having it done at a shop would be that they lube the chassis and if you ask they will fix little agrivating problems cheap like loose exhaust screws or bolts that cause a rattle. When the car is on the lift just ask the guy to look at anything you have been concerned about its as easy as that . Lube shops are normally the more honest of the auto repair places cuz the really dont get into the major repairs . Check your gas milage and if your doing good on mpg's dont worry about the tune up unless there are obvious problems. Any problems with your plugs, injectors ,wires cap, or rotor will effect your gas milage
, changing these things will waste money you may need for other repairs like water pump, timming belt and alternator witch will leave you on the side of the road. If your going to spend the money the timing belt is of # 1 importance and can destoy your car in less than a second if it goes.

do it yourself or at a shop? Each place will have a bottom rate for garage time. The filter should be close to $10 give or take. then $20 on oil. If it is just a do it yourself job, it should be under $40 or $50.
