Is the only toyota "plant" in america? so if you want a toyota in japan, it's considered an imported car even though it is Japanese?

Toyota, and most major automakers in the world, have plants in nearly every continent. So the answer would be that Toyota, just like Ford, Nissan, GM and so on, has manufacturing plants not only in Japan and United States, but also in other countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Car companies build their cars as close to their customers as possible to reduce costs. As a matter of fact, Toyota recently opened a plant in Russia to build the Camry for the Russian market.

Toyota has plants all over the world, including Japan, China, Australia, Vietnam, the UAE, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Russia, and the USA.
Toyota is considered an import because the company's headquarters is in Japan.
As far as 'buying American' there isn't too much difference anymore as most cars available in the US are built in American plants by American workers. The difference is where the profits go, which only matters to shareholders and CEOs.

I believe the Japanese invented it and the very first headquarters were there. Now that Toyota has been franchised many times, the assembly plans are all over the place, mostly in America (it's plans not plants LOL=) The parts are made in Japan though. You can check the side of your car door for that or ask a dealer to show you.

NO. I worked on 2 Toyota's that were made in Japan today. If the VIN number starts with a "J" it was made in Japan. The Toyota plant's in America were built on land that was given to Toyota for free.......by politicions..... and the building's were financed by Japanese bank's and were built with Japanese steel.
I've been telling people this forever. I hope someone is finally listening instead of becoming a Toyotabot brainwash victim.
