You should definitely buy a Toyota, over any other car. Toyota's have impeccable reliability. GM is something to stay away from, unless you want a car with a low quality build from a company that is going out of business and with their bankruptcy will send the state of Michigan into poverty. Toyota is the way to go, I personally would buy a Tacoma, but if you are looking for a great family vehicle go for a Camry. Hope that helps!!

Despite all the bad mouthing of GM, the fact is that they have the most powerful trucks on the road. If you need something to drive around and do little work, get a Toyota.. If you need something with some balls, and ability to go off-road without blinking, go GM. And for the record, Toyota uses GM technology in MOST of their current production vehicles, and GM uses Toyota engines in many of their current [smaller] vehicles, namely, the EcoTech 2.2 liter.

I own a Toyota Tacoma, and a Sienna. I bought the truck new in 98. It currently has 256K miles on it and is still going strong. I replaced a throttle position sensor ($50) and the battery once. The van, which I have only had for a year, has also been very reliable. I strongly recomend Toyota.

Don't buy anything made by GM at the moment because they are in a slump with producing quality vehicles and make trucks that are "like a rock". I would suggest a Ford, or even a Dodge because they are expirencing record sales with Toyota.

I finally caved in two years ago and bought a Toyota after 20 years of GM products. What a difference. Quality, mileage, service etc etc. If you ever go away from GM you won't come back.

Depends on your needs. For instance, if you want to do some serious towing, forget toyota and get a GM 3500 Diesel truck.

If you're just going to haul some dirt, the toyota should be your choice.

If you buy a foreign car the souls of 1000's of union workers from Detroit will haunt you and your rice rocket.

No really, the cars coming out of Detroit in the last year will make even those dreaded Mazda folks green with envy. Decide for yourself after all you have to drive it, Just test drive a few and see what you like. But whatever you choose order it online and just pick it up from the local dealer, that way the salesman can't strong arm you into extras you don't want or need.
