Rob R replied sensibly, alternately take your Log Book (Registration Document) and your I/D to any Toyota Dealer I am sure they will make out a key for you. You do not have to tow the car there. These locksmiths cannot make out the remote car keys as they do not have yet acquired the technology to access the Remote Code Number. It is only the Toyota Dealer who can help you. It is expensive to get one made but there is no other option. Do not listen anybody to change lock, fiddle around with the remote assembly etc, I assure you nothing will work, you may only damage your lock if you do, it is entirely computerised system.

According to your year, you don't have the chip in the key, so you can go to a locksmith and have a set made, or you can go to the dealership and have them made. You will have to provide proof of ownership and the vin # of your vehicle to either person.

Email me the VIN #. I may be able to get the key code for you.

If I can, you can get a key cut at a Toyota Dealership. You will have to prove ownership. They won't just cut you a key on your word for it. So you will either need the title or your registration.

Email me and I will see what I can do.

YOU WILL NEED TO TAKE YOUR CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE VEHICLE COMPUTER RESEEDED(CHANGE THE IMMOBILIZER MEMORY CODE)IF YOU DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT WITH A VALET KEY YOU WILL NOT NEED PROOF OF OWNERSHIP.THE COST VARIES DEPENDING OF WHERE YOU LIVE.IN TEXAS IT COSTS AROUND $250 U.S. DOLLARS.GOOD LUCK. (P.S. BE CAREFUL ABOUT GIVING DETAILED INFORMATION ONLINE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR VEHICLE.)
