The highlander Hybrids have been out for a couple years now, its the same technology as the prius. Toyota has been the leader in hybrid technology since it came out. They are at the forefront of the technology. The big thing to consider is the gas/MPG you will save, its not as huge of a difference as the Prius, but nonetheless, you'll still maintain great economy and help in the contribution to less pollution as well. Also consider that Toyota backs they Hybrid tech with a great warranty, 100k on the battery/80k on the motors.

The other cars you have mentioned above just dont muster up.

Consider reading Consumer Digest and also look up Edmunds.com under testimonials. This section is straight from the owners mouths on what they like and dislike about they cars.

Those two are in totally different categories, but your best bet would be with the hybrid. the hybrid gets better milage, and the same safety and luxury features are avaliable on the hybrid, so you can make it almost the same as a limited.

As for the RDX, its a good car with a fun drive, but it consumes so much gas for a midsized car. Try the Lexus RX 350 Hybrid. It has a similar style as the RDX, and yet it uses less gas

not only is less gas good for the enviornment, it also saves you money. dont forget, this summer, gas is going to be $4 dollars a gallon

the new Hybrid is too new for reliability to be known.

older Highlanders scored well

so wait and see on how the Hybrid performs.

with highway driving and in winter gas consumption will go up....they aren't as economical to run as one thinks....RAV has almost as much room as Highlander...non-hybrid though...

Well the comparison to the highlander and hybrid makes sense as they are close in price depending on features and and Toyota will make you happy either way but when you move to the RDX and Lexus your jumping alot in price so gas saving must not really be that important if you can afford the Lexus or Acura. I would say the Highlander if gas really isn't a concern as your resale value over the long haul will be better because only a small percentage of people drive a hybrid making the highlander a better buy and you will also get great gas mileage on the 4cyl Highlander . If you go up to Lexus or Acura jump on the Lexus as that's the best driving SUV in its class.
