put the car in neutral when it starts shaking, does it go away?If it does its probably powertrain related,I wouldn't play around with the problem, safety related for sure, raise the front end check tie-rod ends and suspension, always helps to know what kind of car ya drive too,a tire balance problem will come and go at different speeds if the front end is tight i would check the tires and rims for sure......

Tires are unbalanced or you have a belt or ply separation causing one of the tires to be out of round. Do you remember hitting any potholes or curbs really hard lately? Move the two front tires to the back axle, and if the shaking clears up a lot, suspect one of the rear tires is the culprit.
Mis-alignment causes the car to pull to the right or left generally, or to cause certain tire wear characteristics. However, a bad tire in front can also cause a car to pull to the right or left, so swap the front tires when checking the alignment. You could also try putting the spare tire on the front and see if the shaking stops.

Sound like you could use an alignment or tire balance. It could also be that one of your ball joints is going bad. Also worn tires could do this

Could be worn out ball joints. If that is it, this is extremely dangerous. Litterally, your wheel could come off while you are driving. You should take it to the garage immediately.

Front end is out of alignment or tires out of balance.

your tires may need balancing, or an alignment

Could be slipped belts in tire(s).
